However, Sky has now revealed an exciting update for Sky Q boxes, introducing the U app to provide on-demand access to a variety of shows.
Initially available on Sky Glass and Stream, the U app now extends its reach to Sky Q, offering shows such as The Marlow Murder Club, Outrageous, Bergerac, Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, and more. Users can easily search for content and explore specific categories tailored to their preferences. Additionally, there’s a Watchlists feature for convenient saving of shows for later viewing.
Formerly known as UKTV, U underwent a significant rebranding last year to consolidate channels like Dave, Yesterday, and Drama. The U app is now accessible on Sky Q without the need for any updates or restarts.
Sam Tewungwa, Managing Director of UKTV, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion of U onto the popular Sky Q platform, citing continuous growth in views and content quality. Jon Simkin, Managing Director of Content Partnerships at Sky, highlighted the increased choice and flexibility for customers in enjoying TV content through the U app on Sky Q, following its successful launch on Sky Stream and Sky Glass.
