Weight Loss Drug Linked to Severe Pancreas Issues

Must read

A woman who initially praised the weight loss drug Mounjaro for helping her shed 3.5 stone found herself in the hospital due to severe chest pains and pancreas failure. Alisha Trafford, 25, started using Mounjaro in February 2025 to manage her PCOS symptoms and lose weight. Despite losing significant weight within three months, she soon experienced intense stomach pain and vomiting, leading to multiple hospital admissions.

Doctors diagnosed Alisha with pancreatitis, attributing it to the use of Mounjaro. Subsequently, she developed pancreatic necrosis, a serious condition that can lead to sepsis if untreated. Alisha, from Hull, expressed regret over using the drug, stating that it had a detrimental impact on her health and life.

After numerous hospitalizations, Alisha was warned of lifelong risks of pancreatic complications. She emphasized the importance of seeking medical help if experiencing any adverse effects from Mounjaro. The drug’s manufacturer, Lilly, emphasized patient safety and advised individuals with a history of pancreatitis to consult healthcare professionals before using Mounjaro.

Pancreatitis is a condition characterized by pancreatic inflammation, which can lead to complications like pancreatic necrosis. If left untreated, these complications can be life-threatening. Alisha, now focusing on natural weight loss methods, urged caution and prompt medical attention for anyone using Mounjaro experiencing unusual symptoms.
