“Elon Musk Joins Davos Discussion Amid Ryanair Clash”

Must read

Elon Musk is scheduled to participate in a discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos today, as confirmed by an announcement on the WEF website. The conversation will feature Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, Chief Engineer at SpaceX, and CTO at xAI, alongside Laurence D. Fink, the Chair and CEO of BlackRock and Interim Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum.

This appearance follows a public disagreement between the billionaire and Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary, stemming from a dispute over the installation of Musk’s Starlink internet on Ryanair aircraft. Musk initiated a poll on his social media platform X, inquiring whether he should acquire Ryanair and reinstate “Ryan as their rightful ruler.”

The clash involved discussions about integrating Musk’s Starlink satellite internet system on Ryanair planes, with O’Leary previously referring to Musk as “an idiot.” In response to queries regarding the online altercation with Musk and the status of his X platform, O’Leary criticized social media, labeling it a “cesspit” and criticizing platforms like TikTok.

O’Leary urged European authorities to address the issue of anonymity on social media platforms and expressed his disconnection from X, stating that Ryanair is prepared to reciprocate Musk’s actions on its X account.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s address at Davos today comes on the heels of a speech by former US President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum. Trump’s speech, characterized by confusion between Greenland and Iceland and claims of being referred to as “Daddy” by European nations, included assurances that there would be no forcible acquisition of Greenland.

Trump emphasized the strategic importance of Greenland for national and international security, stating that the US has the responsibility to safeguard the region. Although he expressed a desire for negotiations regarding the acquisition of Greenland, he ruled out military intervention, emphasizing a preference for peaceful resolutions.
