A recent survey revealed that a significant number of individuals in the UK are eager to tackle their bucket lists in an effort to combat feelings of stagnation. The survey found that nearly 60% of adults in the country feel trapped in monotonous routines, such as working all day, watching TV in the evenings, and then going to bed.

The survey, conducted by TUI, showed that almost 80% of respondents are determined to fulfill their lifelong dreams in 2026, indicating a shift towards embracing new experiences. Additionally, 46% of those surveyed expressed feeling overwhelmed by the current global situation, with 58% yearning for a change and a sense of adventure.

Reclaiming a sense of adventure was rated as the top priority for 49% of respondents for the year ahead. Many individuals emphasized that this desire for change is not just a fleeting New Year’s resolution but a long-term commitment to a more fulfilling life.

Furthermore, the survey revealed a strong inclination towards spontaneity and self-discovery, with a shift from delaying experiences with “Someday I’ll do that” to adopting a mindset of “Why not now?” Popular aspirations for 2026 included embarking on a dream vacation to a new destination, exploring new hobbies, learning languages, and even considering getting a tattoo.

Notably, a significant portion of respondents expressed interest in pursuing novel experiences, such as starting new businesses, engaging in cold water swimming, learning to dance salsa, or making bold changes to their appearance. Some individuals also expressed a desire to venture into unfamiliar territories by trying blind dates, bungee jumping, or skydiving, while others sought a break from technology with a digital detox or engaging in viral social media trends.

When it comes to dream travel destinations, Japan emerged as the top choice, closely followed by New York and the Maldives.
