Holly Willoughby quits ITV show after just one series
Holly Willoughby won’t be returning to co-host the second series of ITV’s game show You Bet! due to clashes in her schedule, the broadcaster has confirmed. The first series of the rebooted entertainment show, which aired in December 2024, saw Willoughby, aged 44, team up with Stephen Mulhern as hosts.
An ITV spokesperson shared: “Unfortunately Holly couldn’t commit to the dates to host the new series of You Bet! , but will hopefully appear as a guest panellist on one of the shows in the new series.”
The show, which challenges celebrities to wager on whether ordinary folks can pull off extraordinary tasks, originally ran from 1988 to 1997 and featured legends like the late Sir Bruce Forsyth. Back in February, ITV was scouting for participants for the upcoming series.
Both Willoughby and Mulhern, who is 47, are also known for presenting the ITV skating competition Dancing On Ice, where they recently announced this year’s winners. The duo has a history of working together since the noughties on the ITV Saturday morning children’s programme Ministry Of Mayhem, later rebranded as Holly and Stephen’s Saturday Showdown, reports Wales Online.
Willoughby is widely recognised for her long stint on ITV’s daytime hit This Morning, which she left in October 2023, following Phillip Schofield’s earlier departure after he admitted to an “unwise, but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague from the show.
