“Jake Paul Denies Drug Use, Challenges Anthony Joshua”

Must read

Jake Paul has refuted claims that he was under the influence of drugs when he recently challenged two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. The former YouTuber turned boxer caused a stir in the fighting community by expressing his eagerness to face off against Joshua. In a video on his YouTube channel ‘BS with Jake Paul,’ he boldly stated his belief that he could defeat Joshua, criticizing his lack of chin, skill, and flexibility. Despite their friendship, Paul declared his intention to fight Joshua and even boasted about his potential to triumph over other renowned fighters.

Joshua has been absent from the ring since his defeat to British boxer Daniel Dubois in September. Paul’s most recent fight was in November against former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson. Speculation had arisen earlier about a possible match between Paul and Mexican boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez in May, but this was dismissed after Alvarez signed a lucrative deal with Riyadh Season.

Paul’s unexpected challenge to Joshua garnered attention, prompting his brother, Logan, to seek clarification. In a video titled ‘My Brother Is Fighting Anthony Joshua,’ the brothers were seen discussing the situation while on a plane journey. Paul was asked directly if he was on drugs when he called out Joshua, to which he denied and humorously added that he would consider it if available.

The conversation continued with Paul explaining his aspiration to become the heavyweight champion of the world and criticizing Joshua’s fighting abilities. Despite doubts from others, including boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, regarding the feasibility of the match, Paul remained confident about facing Joshua in 2026. Hearn expressed skepticism about the fight happening, citing concerns about the mismatch in skill levels.
