Must read

Red Nose Day is set to occur this Friday, showcasing celebrities such as Kris Marshall, Davina McCall, Alison Hammond, Jonathan Ross, Jamie Laing, and Lee Mack as they engage in entertaining activities to raise funds for Comic Relief. Additionally, there are various merchandise items available for purchase, enabling everyone to wear red noses and partake in the festivities.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Comic Relief, which was established in May 1985 by screenwriter Richard Curtis and comedian Sir Lenny Henry to support charitable causes in the UK and worldwide.

To commemorate this milestone, nostalgic red noses from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, along with two new designs – the Cupcake Nose and the Rare Ruby Nose, are on sale on Amazon. Moreover, TK Maxx is offering Comic Relief t-shirts and sweatshirts in collaboration with Aardman Animation, Disney, Peter Black, Mr Men and Little Miss, Charlie Mackesy, Rachel Roy, and Rankin, featuring unique designs like a red nose-wearing Shaun the Sheep and red nose Mickey and Minnie Mouse t-shirts.

The official Comic Relief store is also worth exploring, where iconic red noses are available for £2.50 each, as well as selection boxes containing 30 red noses for schools priced at £60. Additionally, the store offers TK Maxx t-shirts, bags, fundraising packs, Bluey party packs, and virtual gifts for purchase.

Celebrities including Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Joel Dommett, Alison Hammond, Rylan Clark, and Alesha Dixon are scheduled to host the live Red Nose Day event on BBC One from 7pm to 10pm this Friday, followed by Tom Allen and AJ Odudu taking over on BBC Two from 10pm onwards.

Highlights of the evening will include “Oasis: The Reunion: The Movie,” a parody featuring Inbetweeners stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas portraying Gallagher brothers Liam and Noel, alongside a cast including Martin Lewis, Vernon Kay, Tasha Ghouri, Melvin Odoom, and Roisin Conaty. Additionally, a comedy crossover titled “Not Going Beyond Paradise” will merge the worlds of Beyond Paradise and Not Going Out, with Sally Bretton appearing in dual roles.

Furthermore, presenter Jamie Laing initiated an ultra marathon 150-mile challenge aiming to run from the BBC offices in London to Salford in Manchester by Red Nose Day. By Wednesday, he had raised £100,000 and was en route to Loughborough, with plans to continue through Kegworth on Thursday and conclude in Salford on Friday.
