“Jamie Laing to Run 150+ Miles Despite Hip Injury”

Must read

Jamie Laing is getting ready for a significant challenge for Red Nose Day, planning to run more than 150 miles in just five days despite dealing with a painful hip injury. As he prepares for the ultra marathon from London to Salford, Jamie has discussed the injuries he is battling with, causing concern for his family as he takes on this endeavor.

Commencing on Monday, March 17, the 36-year-old Jamie will embark on a cross-country run, concluding in Salford on Friday, March 21, in support of Comic Relief. The entire run will be live-streamed on Radio 1 and BBC Sounds, with special guests accompanying Jamie along the route. His Radio 1 colleagues will be present at each destination to provide updates.

Jamie shared that his “naivety” is his biggest source of strength in facing this challenge. He emphasized the importance of not overthinking the mental preparation and focusing on taking it one kilometer at a time to push through. Despite already experiencing injuries like shin splints and a troublesome hip from training, Jamie is determined to raise funds.

The Radio 1 host admitted that this ultra marathon poses a unique challenge compared to his past endeavors in cross-country runs, boot camps, and rugby matches. He described it as an entirely wild experience.

Recently, Jamie and his wife Sophie were victims of a car break-in, which left them surprised and unsettled. Jamie recounted finding their car near their London residence with signs of intrusion, leading to the discovery that their car had been burglarized.

Reflecting on the bizarre incident, Jamie mentioned that apart from the theft, the burglars left a pineapple and a melon in their car seats. Puzzled by this gesture, Jamie decided against consuming the fruits, finding the situation eerie.
