An urgent recall has been issued for a ceiling fan sold on Amazon due to concerns that it could pose an electric shock risk to consumers. The affected product, named A-Faction856 Ceiling Fan, manufactured in China, is being rejected by border authorities to prevent further imports. Identified with product codes FBA15JYLVF9HU000040 and X0027BDFWD, consumers are advised not to use this particular fan.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards has highlighted the dangers associated with the fan, stating that it lacks adequate insulation and proper distance between circuits, increasing the risk of electric shock. The insulation may degrade over time, potentially exposing live wires and endangering users. Consequently, the product does not comply with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Consumers who have purchased the fan are urged to contact Amazon to explore refund options. This alert follows a previous safety recall concerning certain models of Citroen C3 and related DS3s.
The recall extends to second-generation C3 and first-generation DS3 models produced between 2009 and 2016, as well as DS3 Automobile DS3s manufactured between 2016 and 2019, all equipped with potentially faulty Takata airbag systems.
Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted via letter, and they can also verify if their car is subject to the recall by using the VIN check tool on Citroen’s website. Stellantis, the Citroen brand owner, has reported no incidents of faults in the UK.
