“Struggling households in Ribble Valley eligible for £500 cost of living vouchers”

Must read

Struggling households in need of assistance are encouraged to apply for cost of living vouchers valued at up to £500 this summer. Ribble Valley Borough Council is extending this aid through the Household Support Fund, a financial resource allocated to local councils by the central Government. The council administers the fund to provide support, typically in the form of vouchers or grants that do not require repayment.

Ribble Valley Borough Council is specifically issuing food vouchers to eligible households with a total annual income below £35,000. The voucher amounts vary based on household composition: individuals living alone can receive £200, households with two or more adults are eligible for £300, and households with children can obtain up to £500.

To address the ongoing cost of living challenges, the Mirror has introduced a dedicated Money WhatsApp community offering the latest advice and money-saving tips directly to users’ phones. By clicking on the provided link and selecting ‘Join Chat,’ individuals can access exclusive updates and content. Community members may also receive special offers and promotions from the Mirror and its partners.

Interested individuals can apply for the vouchers on ribblevalley.gov.uk until July 11, 2025, subject to funding availability. Residents who previously received vouchers between October 2024 and March 2025 are ineligible, with exceptions for assistance after October 2025 for those aided between April 2024 and September 2024. Non-Ribble Valley residents are advised to check with their local councils for similar support under the Household Support Fund.

For instance, City of Doncaster Council is aiding households receiving specific benefits like Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Universal Credit, and free school meals. Payments vary based on the number of dependent children in the household, with additional support provided for energy bills. Similarly, Hull City Council is offering financial assistance to pensioner households and school uniform grants to low-income families.

Hartlepool Borough Council is distributing £100 food vouchers to households with children aged two to 19 eligible for free school meals and providing £100 in bank payments or food vouchers to pensioner households receiving council tax support.
