Must read

Grand National rider Michael Nolan has been handed a 10-day suspension following his horse’s fall during the race, with stewards stating that the horse seemed to be exhausted. Celebre D’Allen was one of two horses that fell at Aintree on Saturday.

The horse received immediate care from veterinarians on the track before being transported to the horse ambulance and then back to the stables for further attention.

An investigation by the British Horse Racing Authority delved into the incident where the horse stumbled before the final hurdle, resulting in Nolan’s ban for his actions during the race, leading to his ten-day absence from racing.

Celebre D’Allen was not the only horse to fall during the Grand National event. Broadway Boy also experienced a concerning fall at the 25th fence. Both horses underwent extensive treatment on-site, causing a delay in the subsequent race. Fortunately, both horses were able to walk onto the horse ambulance, showing promising signs.

Jockey Tom Bellamy required hospital treatment following the incident. A spokesperson from the Jockey Club confirmed that Broadway Boy and Celebre D’Allen were taken back to the stables for further evaluation.

In a surprising turn of events, Nick Rockett emerged victorious in the Grand National, defying odds of 33/1. Patrick Mullins, the winning jockey, contributed to trainer Willie Mullins securing his third Grand National triumph. Willie Mullins expressed his joy in an emotional interview with ITV, emphasizing the significance of the win for him and his son.

Reflecting on the victory, Mullins shared his elation, stating that the meticulous planning for the race had paid off superbly, culminating in a memorable achievement.
