Jack Fincham’s cane corso, Elvis, will be returned to him after he avoided prison time and received a suspended sentence following an appeal hearing today. The Love Island celebrity was initially given a six-week prison sentence for having an out-of-control dog. However, he was released on the same day of his January hearing after the appeal and was later seen smiling with his girlfriend, Chloe Brockett. Jack, 33, attended the appeal hearing at Basildon Crown Court and was handed a three-month suspended sentence, added to his existing 18-month suspended sentence for a drug-driving offense in March 2024.
After his court appearance, Jack took to his Instagram Stories to inform his 1.6 million followers that Elvis would be coming back to him. In a post with a professional photo of himself and his dog, he expressed his excitement to have Elvis back home. In January, Jack was sentenced following two incidents involving Elvis. The first incident occurred when Elvis bit a runner named Robert Sudell in Swanley, Kent, in September 2022. The runner accepted an apology, and Jack was supposed to attend a responsible dog ownership course.
Despite conditions that Elvis should be muzzled, a second incident happened in Grays, Essex, where Elvis attacked a woman who fortunately was not injured. Jack admitted to two charges of having an out-of-control dog, with one incident resulting in injury. In addition to the jail term, Jack was ordered to pay £3,680, including a fine and compensation to the runner, Robert Sudell. The magistrate allowed Jack to pay in installments as he had no savings.
Now, with the three-month suspended sentence, Jack must adhere to strict rules regarding Elvis, including muzzling the dog in public, keeping it on a lead, and ensuring it is not left alone with anyone under 16.
