Haas F1 Team Unaffected by Trump’s Trade Tariffs

The Haas F1 team has confirmed that the international trade tariffs imposed by Donald Trump will not impact their operations, despite their parent company, Haas Automation, experiencing a reduction in production due to the US Government’s levies.

The tariffs implemented by US President Trump have significantly affected stock markets worldwide, with an estimated £8 trillion wiped from major markets. As a response, Haas Automation has announced a hiring freeze and reduced production at their manufacturing plant in Oxnard, California.

Haas Automation, led by F1 team owner Gene Haas, stated that they are assessing the full impact of the tariffs on their operations and have witnessed a decline in demand for their machine tools. Consequently, they have cut production, frozen hiring, and put new employment requisitions on hold.

Despite the challenges faced by Haas Automation, the Haas F1 team is not anticipating any immediate changes. A team spokesperson clarified that the tariffs and statements from Haas Automation do not affect the team’s plans, including development, recruitment, and ongoing projects.

Formula 1 enthusiasts can catch all the live action, including practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and races, by subscribing to Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, saving £192. This package also includes access to over 100 TV channels and complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.

Haas F1 Team, currently ranking sixth in the constructors’ standings after the initial three races of the season, aims to maintain their positive performance. With notable achievements in the opening races, including strong finishes by Esteban Ocon and newcomer Oliver Bearman, the team is optimistic about their prospects for the upcoming events.

Ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix, Haas has introduced a new reserve driver, Ryo Hirakawa, who will replace Oliver Bearman in the first practice session. This addition reflects the team’s commitment to enhancing their roster and competitiveness for future races.
