“Save on Broadband Costs: Switch Now to Avoid Price Hikes”

Must read

Experts are warning that many households in the UK might be paying more than necessary for their broadband without realizing potential savings. If your current contract has ended, now is the perfect opportunity to switch to a more cost-effective deal before anticipated price increases take effect in April.

Major providers such as BT, Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, Plusnet, and Vodafone are enticing new customers with price-freeze promotions this March for the second year in a row. The current offers are, on average, only 6% more expensive than those available during Black Friday and are a significant 10% cheaper than the same period last year. Broadband Genie experts advise that delaying the switch could result in higher costs in the long run.

Peter Ames, a broadband specialist at Broadband Genie, recommends, “The optimal time to change broadband is immediately after your contract ends. If you are no longer under contract, it is advisable to switch promptly to minimize the impact of price hikes. Make the switch now, and with most providers, you won’t experience a price increase until next April. Each week of delay will escalate the overall contract cost. Ideally, Ofcom should prohibit price rises altogether instead of making inadequate attempts to address them.”
