A beloved personality from the hit show Strictly Come Dancing has been announced as the new host of The Apprentice’s companion series, Unfinished Business, following Tom Allen’s departure.
Angela Scanlon, known for her dance partnership with Strictly’s Carlos Gu in 2023, is a popular figure at the BBC and has been linked to potentially taking over hosting duties on Strictly following the exits of Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly at the close of 2025.
Unfinished Business, the spin-off show of The Apprentice, has been airing weekly for six years as a follow-up to the main program. A recent announcement on the show’s official Instagram page unveiled Angela as the show’s new lead.
In a post featuring Angela, the show’s team wrote: “Angela Scanlon is geared up to host The Apprentice: Unfinished Business! The series will not only showcase industry experts and celebrity enthusiasts but will also include weekly interviews with eliminated candidates, offering insights into all the drama and backstage happenings. The Apprentice: Unfinished Business will soon be available on #iPlayer and #BBCSounds.”
Fans expressed delight at Angela’s new role, with one enthusiast commenting, “Love this!! Yes pleaseeeee,” while another welcomed her with, “You’re Hired! Welcome aboard.” Angela responded to the positive feedback from fans, indicating the show would air on BBC Two right after the main event.
Former host Tom Allen bid farewell to his position after six years, sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram in which he expressed gratitude to Lord Sugar, Karren Brady, Tim Campbell, and all the show’s participants. He hinted at upcoming exciting projects for the show and his future endeavors.
Angela’s latest venture comes after her successful guest appearance as a host on This Morning, where viewers praised her for her engaging presence. The Irish TV personality co-hosted with Dermot O’Leary, earning accolades for her performance. Viewers took to social media platforms to express their approval, with one stating, “Angela Scanlon is FANTASTIC hosting This Morning. Needs to be full-time.”
