President Donald Trump criticized anti-ICE demonstrations in Minnesota as “fake riots” during a speech in Detroit, where he also made unsubstantiated claims and used a racist slogan. Trump suggested that protesters against ICE activities were staged and referred to a video showing a woman shouting “shame” at an ICE agent involved in a recent shooting incident.
Trump implied that the protesters were orchestrated and funded, labeling the demonstrations as fraudulent. Additionally, he targeted Representative Ilhan Omar from Minnesota with racially charged comments, insinuating her involvement in criminal activities and criticizing her background.
Furthermore, Trump threatened to revoke the citizenship of individuals from Somalia convicted of fraud, despite legal constraints on such actions. He also made remarks about deporting Somalis and returning to America’s “native spirit” in an effort to combat corruption.
The President also mentioned cutting off funding to Sanctuary Cities and reiterated his stance on not supporting jurisdictions that offer protections to immigrants without legal status. Trump emphasized his administration’s efforts to enforce immigration policies and prevent what he perceives as criminal activities associated with sanctuary policies.
