Body Found in Park Likely Belongs to Missing Woman

Must read

Authorities have discovered a deceased individual during the search for a woman who went missing on Christmas Day.

Law enforcement officers have reason to believe that the body found in Hanley’s Central Forest Park on Saturday belongs to Lisa Nixon, a woman from Stoke-on-Trent who was reported missing. Lisa, aged 46, was last seen on Waterloo Road in Hanley around 2:30pm on Christmas Day. Her demise is currently being treated as unexplained.

Her family has been notified and is receiving support from specialized personnel. Official identification is yet to occur.

Lisa was also sighted in the Birches Head area at 2pm on Christmas Eve before her last confirmed appearance the following day.

A spokesperson from Staffordshire Police stated, “Regrettably, we can confirm the discovery of a body in the search for Lisa, a 46-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent who was reported missing on January 3.

“Tragically, a body was found on Saturday afternoon in Central Forest Park, Hanley. Formal identification will be conducted in the near future, but the current belief is that the body is that of Lisa, who went missing. Her family is being assisted by trained officers during this challenging period. The cause of death is under investigation, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

“Our investigation is ongoing, and individuals with relevant information, CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, or doorbell camera footage are urged to contact us.”

Witnesses are encouraged to call 101, referencing incident number 280 from January 17. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

This development coincides with worries about a 58-year-old British man who has been missing since January 5.

Kenny Robertson disappeared while vacationing in Thailand. According to his family, he last made contact from Bangkok Airport on that day, and a brief email was sent to a friend three days later. Since then, there has been no communication from Kenny, who was traveling solo in Thailand when he vanished.

His family emphasizes that it is unlike Kenny to lose touch. He had planned to explore Thailand on his own for several weeks before engaging in voluntary work at a dog sanctuary. However, the sanctuary has not heard from him.

In a plea shared on Facebook, friend Jordan McLeod expressed concern, “My friend has been reported missing after arriving in Thailand. He has not contacted friends or family, which is very unusual for him. Please share if you can help.”

A missing persons poster is circulating on social media along with an urgent request to locate Kenny, described as 5ft 6in tall and wearing glasses.
