Alison Hammond Teases Acting Career Change

Must read

Alison Hammond, a popular TV personality, teased a potential career change after playfully revealing a falsehood about her involvement in This Morning during a game on her Smart TV podcast. During the podcast episode with guest Richard Armitage, Alison, 50, claimed she had never rewatched her segments on the show, which she has co-hosted alongside Dermot O’Leary for five years. After leaving Richard puzzled, she humorously suggested that she should pursue acting.

Despite initially denying that she had ever watched the ITV program herself, Alison later admitted that this statement was false. She confessed, “Of course I’ve watched This Morning, that’s the lie.” Additionally, Alison shared two truths with Richard and her podcast audience – that she once tended an allotment and that she was named after the boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

Alison and Dermot took over the Friday slot on This Morning in 2020, succeeding Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford. Following the departure of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in 2023, Alison and Dermot’s presence on the show has become even more prominent.

Alison’s television career traces back to 2002 when she appeared on Big Brother, later transitioning to a reporting role on This Morning before securing a permanent position. Over the years, she has made various TV appearances, including as a panelist on Loose Women, a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef, and a participant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014, where she finished 10th with her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec. More recently, she has been co-hosting The Great Celebrity Bake Off with Noel Fielding.
