Apple has rolled out a significant update, iOS 26.2, to iPhone users worldwide. This latest update brings more than 10 new features, enhancing customization options, adding new alarms for reminders, and revamping the AirDrop function to include a code verification feature for improved security.

Among the key updates in iOS 26.2 is the ability to customize the Lock Screen with a new option to adjust the appearance of the Liquid Glass material. Alarms for Reminders have been introduced to help users manage urgent tasks efficiently, offering snooze and Live Activity support for added convenience.

The AirDrop function now includes codes for an extra layer of security when transferring files to unknown contacts, requiring a code input on the receiver’s device for the transfer to be completed. Additionally, Freeform tables have been introduced, allowing for the inclusion of text, images, documents, and drawings with intelligent cell resizing for better organization.

Apple Music now features offline lyrics for downloaded songs, enabling users to view lyrics without an internet connection. The Podcasts section has been updated to automatically generate chapters, making it easier to navigate through episodes.

Furthermore, the update includes enhancements in gaming, with support for connected controllers like Backbone and Razer. Users can check for the iOS 26.2 update by navigating to Settings, General, and Software Update on their iPhone. The update is a substantial 12GB download, so a stable internet connection is recommended for the installation process.

Apart from the new features, iOS 26.2 addresses security issues and bugs, making it essential for all users to install the update promptly. Apple has emphasized the importance of updating to benefit from the improved features, bug fixes, and security enhancements included in iOS 26.2.
