Bridgerton season four is gearing up to unveil a fresh setting that is sure to captivate viewers. The much-anticipated fourth season of Bridgerton is just around the corner, promising an exciting return of The Ton in search of the next ideal match to impress Queen Charlotte, portrayed by Golda Rosheuvel.
Fans of the Netflix series are eagerly anticipating the focus on the second eldest Bridgerton brother, Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson), and his romantic entanglement with Sophie (Yerin Ha). Devotees of Julia Quinn’s novel series will recognize a significant moment awaiting this couple at My Cottage, Benedict’s rural residence yet to be seen on screen.
Luke Thompson hinted at the faithfulness of the adaptation, stating, “It’s one of those sequences in the novel that I feel is so closely followed and replicated in the series.” The stars spent a fortnight filming pivotal scenes at Loseley Park in England, accompanied only by the characters’ housekeepers, Mr. and Mrs. Crabtree.
Reflecting on the experience, Thompson shared, “It was magical, and [Yerin and I] were just getting to know each other as actors as well as the characters.” The trailer for Bridgerton season four provides a glimpse of the upcoming romantic escapade as Sophie witnesses Benedict’s emergence from a lake.
Regarding the scene, Thompson humorously mentioned, “the lake was freezing,” while Ha added, “the result of [the scene] is steamy.” Showrunner Jess Brownell expressed hopes for the viewers to feel a bit flushed, suggesting a need to cool off with a swim despite the cold lake setting.
Executive producer Tom Verica emphasized the significance of the cottage as a place where Benedict and Sophie could finally have some privacy. The storyline unfolds as Benedict, despite his older and younger brothers’ marriages, finds himself drawn to a mysterious woman known to him only as the Lady in Silver.
Unbeknownst to him, the Lady in Silver is Sophie, a clever maid harboring secrets and aspirations of her own. Bridgerton season four is set to premiere on Thursday, January 29, on Netflix.
