Hyperoptic, a leading broadband provider, has announced a price increase of £4 per month for its customers starting in April 2026, up from the previous rise of £3 per month. This change will apply to both new and existing customers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans. Despite previously opposing mid-contract price hikes, Hyperoptic joins other major telecom companies in implementing larger price increases.
In a shift from its past stance, Hyperoptic’s policy director, James Fredrikson, declared in 2023 that the company refrained from mid-contract price rises, emphasizing transparency in pricing throughout the contract duration.
Sky Mobile customers will experience a £1.50 monthly bill increase from February 14, 2026, marking the first price adjustment for in-contract users in over seven years. Similarly, O2 has announced a £2.50 monthly rise for most mobile and SIM-only contract customers starting in April 2026, surpassing the initially planned increase of £1.80 per month.
For Three mobile customers with data plans of 4GB or less, a monthly price hike of £1.80 will take effect in April 2026, representing an 80p increment from the current £1 rise. Customers with plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will face a £1.90 increase, while those with over 100GB will see a rise of £2.30 monthly.
Additionally, Three broadband subscribers will encounter a £3.50 per month increase, while Vodafone mobile users signing up after November 12 will witness a £2.50 monthly bill surge, or £1.50 for Basics SIM plans. Vodafone broadband customers, on the other hand, will experience a £3.50 monthly price upsurge.
If consumers are out of contract, they may be overpaying for their mobile and broadband services. To save money, individuals are advised to compare prices online, evaluate their current usage, consider switching providers, negotiate with their current provider for better deals, and explore eligibility for social tariffs if they receive benefits.
