Cardiff City’s Andy Rinomhota has shared a touching tribute to his late brother, Joseph Itai Rinomhota, who tragically passed away following injuries sustained during his first Muay Thai fight in Thailand. Joseph Itai, aged 30, was struck during the third round of the bout and despite initially leaving the ring, he collapsed shortly after and, despite medical efforts, did not survive.
An autopsy was conducted at Koh Samui Hospital to determine the exact cause of death, while authorities at Bo Phut Police Station are also conducting an investigation into the incident.
Andy Rinomhota, aged 27 and a player for Cardiff City, expressed his profound grief in an Instagram post dedicated to his brother. In his heartfelt message, he described Joseph as a driven and positive individual who always strived for more in life. He acknowledged his brother’s caring and supportive nature, emphasizing the deep bond they shared.
Cardiff City released a statement expressing support for Andy Rinomhota and his family during this difficult time, sending thoughts and love their way.
