Child rapist Rebecca Holloway, 31, dies in prison after ‘depraved’ texts emerged
A sickening child rapist who participated in the “horrific and appalling” abuse of a girl with her partner has died in prison.
Rebecca Holloway, 31, from Grimsby, was jailed for 12-and-a-half years at Teesside Crown Court in 2020. She died on February 13 at Low Newton prison near Durham.
Her accomplice Oliver Wilson was jailed for 29-and-a-half years, with the twisted pair jointly participating in the horrifying abuse of a young girl. Holloway also admitted making and distributing indecent images of children, GrimsbyLive reports.
At Holloway’s sentencing hearing, Judge Paul Watson QC told her: “You were there encouraging Wilson when he was sexually abusing the girl and you played your part in the vile sexual acts to which she was subjected.
“You derived perverted sexual pleasure from what he was doing. You were a willing, even enthusiastic, participant in what happened. The full extent of the long-term impact of what you two did to the girl may never be known. But it is clear that it has had a profound effect upon her.”
Judge Watson said Holloway and Wilson shared “depraved and vile” text messages about their crimes. He said of one victim: “You sexually abused her in a horrific and appalling way. When she was asked how many times she had been raped by you, she could only reply, ‘Lots.'”
Andrew Bailey, mitigating for Holloway, said she had lost her baby son to cot death in 2015 and met Wilson when she was “emotionally vulnerable”. She had been a long-term self-harmer and suffered from PTSD due to “repeated traumatic events in her past”.
The Prisons and Probations Ombudsman will investigate the death of Holloway and publish its findings in due course. Her next of kin have been informed of her death. No further details have been released.
A Prison Service spokesperson said: “HMP/YOI Low Newton prisoner Rebecca Holloway died on 13 February. As with all deaths in custody, the Prison and Probation Ombudsman will investigate.”
Holloway pleaded guilty to rape, conspiracy to sexually assault children and distributing indecent images – in a case described as ‘one of the most distressing ever heard’ at Grimsby Crown Court. The Mirror previously reported how she was exposed as a paedophile when cops came across the sick chats she had online about the serious sexual abuse of children.
A close-up picture of a girl’s underwear was found when cops went to her house. They also discovered sex toys and sexual images of children.
