Coleen Nolan Concerned Over ITV Daytime Cutbacks

Must read

Veteran Loose Women panelist Coleen Nolan, a long-time member of the show, has expressed her concerns regarding the recent cutbacks in ITV’s daytime programming. In an interview on the Not My Bagg podcast, she disclosed that the show will now only air during term time, excluding holiday periods.

While acknowledging the silver lining of having more time off, Nolan also highlighted the financial challenges that come with the reduced schedule. She emphasized the fortunate survival of Loose Women amidst the significant budget cuts, reflecting on the possibility that the show could have faced complete cancellation.

The restructuring at ITV has led to substantial alterations in popular shows like Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women. Production has transitioned from ITV’s large studio in west London to a smaller facility in Covent Garden, where the live studio audience for Loose Women will no longer be accommodated.

Expressing her fondness for the live audience interaction, Nolan lamented the absence of this dynamic from the show’s new setup. Viewers have also noticed the change, with many expressing a desire for the audience to return due to its significant contribution to the show’s atmosphere.

Apart from the missing audience, a considerable number of backstage staff have been let go as part of the cost-saving measures. While Nolan recognizes the necessity of such decisions in the current television landscape, she mourns the departure of longtime colleagues and friends who have lost their jobs.

In response to the impact of the ITV cuts on her life and income, Nolan plans to embark on a live tour with her new one-woman show, This Is Me. The show will delve into her life story, encompassing her childhood in Blackpool, early career successes, as well as personal challenges including divorces and health issues.

Nolan emphasized the importance of honesty and authenticity in her interactions with audiences, stating that maintaining a genuine persona is essential. The This Is Me show aims to celebrate life, truth, humor, and self-acceptance, embracing all aspects of personal experiences.
