Costa brings back ‘drink of the summer’ and fans are already buzzing
Iced drink enthusiasts are buzzing with delight after Costa Coffee announced the return of a fan-favourite beverage – perfectly timed for some seriously sunny days ahead.
There is nothing quite like indulging in your signature coffee for that much-needed caffeine kick. With a plethora of flavours now on offer, picking out a refreshment from your most-loved café is an absolute joy.
However, every so often, the big names in coffee – such as Starbucks, Caffe Nero, Blank Street, and Pret A Manger – mix up their menus, bringing new concoctions while sending our customary picks into retirement, which can prove disappointing if your favourite is removed from the menu.
But Costa Coffee has listened to the call of their fans and reintroduced the beloved iced whipped latte. Since they made their comeback yesterday (March 6), social media has been abuzz with people rushing to get their hands on the drinks, and sharing their taste tests.
These beverages made a splash in the summer of 2023 and in no time became a sensation among coffee aficionados – crowned Costa’s top-selling seasonal special in summer 2024. But these chilled treats aren’t just a summer fling, now they will be available all year around.
“Whether customers are chasing summer vibes or cosying up on a chilly afternoon, Costa Coffee’s Iced Whipped Lattes are on the menu all-year-round,” Costa has declared. The iced whipped lattes come in two tempting variations – white chocolate and caramel – and coffee fans will be pleased to know they’re available throughout the year.
David Crabtree, Head of Beverage Innovation at Costa Coffee, enthused about their latest offering: “The response to our Iced Whipped Latte range has been incredible. Customers have embraced our twist on an Iced Latte, and we’ve loved seeing many TikTok videos of people enjoying it.”
He went on to say: “So, we thought, why wait until Summer? For the first time ever, it’s back earlier than ever and joining our menu of core iced coffee classics. Whether it’s the middle of winter or the height of summer, you can now get your iced whipped latte fix whenever you like!”
Fans are buzzing on social media about the early return of Costa’s Iced Whipped Latte. Excited mum Hannah (@hannahsfamilylife) shared her delight on TikTok: “The sun is shining, so that means one thing… iced whipped latte season. I tried one of these last year and I think it is the best Costa drink to date.”
Meanwhile, another aficionado @trufflebirch exclaimed on her page: “This drink is amazing. It’s the iced whipped latte and is the white chocolate flavour. Never tried them before.”
She was captivated by the new taste sensation, declaring: “Oh my god, that white chocolate is insane. My new favourite drink unlocked for spring/summer.”
