Daniel Dubois Withdraws from Title Bout vs. Parker

Must read

Daniel Dubois has spoken out after withdrawing from his scheduled heavyweight title bout against Joseph Parker. The British fighter pulled out of the fight just two days before the anticipated match in Saudi Arabia. Dubois, who was set to defend his IBF title for the second time after defeating Anthony Joshua in September, made the decision to withdraw on the advice of doctors, his father, and his team.

In a video message, Dubois expressed his disappointment at not being able to fight due to illness but assured fans that he would be announcing new fight plans soon, expressing his readiness to face opponents like Usyk, Parker, AJ, and others.

Despite fulfilling his media commitments in Saudi Arabia without showing signs of illness, Dubois was examined by doctors and deemed unfit to compete, resulting in the cancellation of the title match with Parker. Martin Bakole was subsequently brought in as Dubois’ replacement to face Parker.

Parker, showing sportsmanship, commended Dubois for prioritizing his health and not risking fighting while unwell. He emphasized the importance of being in peak physical condition to deliver a memorable performance in the ring.
