Former Haas F1 team principal, Guenther Steiner, has transitioned to managing a luxurious villa in his native Italy after departing from Formula 1 before the 2024 season. Steiner, who led Haas for a decade, was succeeded by Ayao Komatsu in the previous year.
Following his tenure at Haas, Steiner delved into F1 commentary and authored a book chronicling his involvement in the sport. Besides these pursuits, he now oversees Villa Steiner located in Merano, Italy.
The opulent establishment features five suites, each named after renowned F1 circuits like Silverstone, Monte Carlo, Suzuka, Melbourne, and Singapore. The Monte Carlo suite stands as the priciest, commanding a minimum of €250 (£209) per night, while the Suzuka suite offers the most affordable option at €120 (£100) per night.
In an interview on talkSPORT, Steiner mentioned, “I do a little bit of everything. I’m not running it myself, I own it. It’s a very touristy area and I like the house.”
Reflecting on his departure from Haas in a Mirror Sport interview, Steiner acknowledged the challenges he faced, stating, “I should have left earlier. I was fighting an uphill struggle where I had no chance to win.” He expressed a desire for success on the podium, emphasizing the need for a fair opportunity to compete at the highest level.
Formula 1 enthusiasts can now access live coverage of every practice, qualifying session, and race through Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, saving £192. This comprehensive package includes Sky Sports access, over 100 TV channels, and complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.
