Inside Chris and Rosie Ramsey’s stunning home as they take on Celebrity Bake Off

Must read

Chris and Rosie Ramsey, the popular podcast duo behind Sh***ed. Married. Annoyed, shared glimpses into their stunning £1.5 million home back in 2021. The historic property, located near South Shields, Tyne and Wear, has been a project of love for the couple, who share two young sons – Robin, nine and Rafe, four. Recently, they appeared on The Great Celebrity Bake Off on Sunday, 16 March, where they joined siblings Scarlette and Stuart Douglas in the kitchen on Channel 4.

The show, known for its light-hearted competition, quickly turned chaotic as tensions ran high between the contestants. Host Alison Hammond revealed the behind-the-scenes drama, saying: “It wasn’t necessarily nice banter. It was arguments. I’ve never seen that before. There was a lot of bickering, a lot of shouting across the benches, a lot of sabotage.”

Judge Paul Hollywood added: “They were arguing with each other because they wanted to win. I was like, ‘Here we go. We’re reffing this, not judging it!’” Chris made it clear that he wasn’t taking the competition lightly, joking: “We are all baking head-to-head. No helping out. No mercy! If one of us wins, we will mention it daily to the other for possibly a decade or two.”

Back at their home, which they moved into nearly four years ago, Chris and Rosie have transformed the historic space into a cosy family retreat. The house, built in 1876, boasts six bedrooms, a vast garden, and a home library, while maintaining period features like panelled doors and fireplaces throughout. The couple has worked hard to renovate the property, blending modern updates with the home’s original charm.

For the festive season, they shared their beautifully decorated home, including a massive Christmas tree in the open-plan kitchen. Rosie proudly showcased the tree in an Instagram post, offering fans a glimpse of their family home, which is filled with elegant features and cosy touches. The house also boasts high ceilings, a grand marble hallway, and an impressive wine cellar for stocking their favourite wines.

Since moving in, Chris and Rosie have made several updates, including painting the living room in a deep navy colour, installing stunning tiles, and brightening up the space with fresh white walls and stylish furniture. Their home library is now filled with books, providing an extensive selection for the whole family to enjoy. Outside, the sprawling garden offers beautiful views of the North East countryside, creating a peaceful oasis for the family.

Rosie and Chris had previously lived in South Shields, Newcastle, but after discovering their dream home in a nearby rural village, they couldn’t resist making the move. Rosie shared her excitement on Instagram shortly after receiving the keys to their new property, saying: “Terrible timing, but our dream house came up, and we couldn’t resist. It’s ridiculous. But a house came up, and we couldn’t resist. I’ve wanted to move for years, and we thought, if we don’t do it now, when will we? I’m a massive believer in fate, and if something’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. It was the worst timing ever, but we were so lucky.”

Reflecting on the quick sale of their previous home, Rosie added: “We had one viewing on our last house, and it sold. All in all, we’re really chuffed.” Despite the stress of moving, she humorously shared, “Feeling a bit stressed and overwhelmed, but still managing to find time to take a selfie. (I didn’t lift much, not gonna lie).”

After months of renovations, Chris and Rosie’s home has become a perfect blend of modern updates and historic charm. It’s a place where they can create lasting memories with their children—and, of course, have the occasional competitive moment, as seen on The Great Celebrity Bake Off.
