Must read

A new suspenseful series titled The Au Pair featuring a well-known actor from Hercule Poirot is scheduled to be broadcast on Channel 5. Curious viewers may wonder about the filming locations of the show.

The distinguished British actor, famous for his role as Hercule Poirot in numerous Agatha Christie adaptations, will play George, a diabetic father who moves next to his daughter Zoe Dalton, portrayed by Sally Bretton.

Zoe, a seamstress, lives a peaceful life with her husband Chris and their stepchildren Amber and Noah in a charming home in the English countryside. However, their tranquility is disrupted when they hire an au pair named Sandrine, played by Ludmilla Makowski, leading to significant changes in their lives.

Sir David Suchet, renowned for his portrayal of Hercule Poirot, also stars as George in the series. The four-part drama will air on Channel 5 over four consecutive nights, with the first episode premiering on Monday at 9 pm.

The series was filmed in the Republic of Ireland in collaboration with Irish co-producers MK1 Studios. Despite the story being set in both France and the English countryside, the actual filming took place around an hour south of Dublin.

Reportedly, the Irish countryside stood in for the Cotswolds in the show. The Victorian mansion showcased in the series, Lis na Carrig, is situated in Foxrock, a posh suburb of Dublin. This location, apart from TV dramas, also hosts various events and gatherings.

Samuel Kissous, the CEO of the production company Pernel Media, explained that the parts set in the Cotswolds were filmed in a location an hour south of Dublin, yet viewers have praised the picturesque scenery resembling the Cotswolds.

Filming commenced in October and concluded in November 2023. Kenny Doughty, known for his role in Vera, announced the completion of shooting for The Au Pair on social media, expressing gratitude to his fellow actors and the city of Dublin.

The show airs nightly at 9 pm on Channel 5, with episodes available for streaming on the My5 service.
