JD Vance’s furious response after protestors follow him and his three-year-old daughter
The Vice President of the United States launched into an X-rated tirade online at a group of Ukrainian protesters who followed him and his daughter.
JD Vance was walking though his neighbourhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, with Mirabel, three, and their Secret Service contingent when he came across the pro-Ukrainian demonstration. On X he said he spoke to many of the protesters, although he did not go into details.
He added how members of the group started following them afterwards, which greatly disturbed his daughter. He said in an angry post: “Today while walking my three-year-old daughter a group of “Slava Ukraini” protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared.
“I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone. (Nearly all of them agreed.) It was a mostly respectful conversation. But if you’re chasing a three-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a s*** person.”
The confrontation came days after Donald Trump, Vance’s boss, ordered the temporary pause of US military aid for Ukraine after his Oval Office blow-up with Volodymyr Zelensky . During the same meeting Vance accused Ukraine’s President of having a “certain sense of entitlement.
He explained later: “He (Zelensky) showed a clear unwillingness to engage in the peace process that President Trump said is the policy. That’s the real breakdown. I think Zelensky wasn’t yet there. And frankly, still isn’t there. But I think he’ll get there eventually, he has to.”
Ir comes after Vance was allegedly caught issuing a chilling threat just moments before Donald Trump’s address to Congress, according to a lip-reading expert. Despite previously being a harsh critic of the president, Vance has now become one of his most ardent supporters.
During the 2016 presidential election, he expressed fluctuating views on Trump, at times comparing him to Nixon and at others, to Hitler. However, this week, while chatting with House Speaker Mike Johnson prior to the 47th president’s contentious speech, Vance seemed to ominously hint at an impending “full reckoning”. Lip reading specialist Jeremy Freeman claims that Vance privately stated, “Yes it is, a full reckoning, and long overdue”.
Since 2022, the United States has pledged and spent at least $65 billion on military aid for Ukraine since Russia’s invasion. Primarily, that assistance has been allocated through two tools: the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) and the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). Among the weapons and equipment provided during the war are F-16 fighter jets , long-range ATACM missiles , High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System and short-range air defense interceptors.
Last week, think tank The Institute for the Study of War warned of the decision: “The United States had been providing Ukraine with artillery ammunition, armoured vehicles, towed howitzers, Patriot air defence batteries, and long-range rocket and missile systems such as HIMARS and ATACMS — many of which are sophisticated systems that only the United States can supply. Pauses in this aid will harm Ukraine’s warfighting capabilities, although it will likely take from weeks to months for the suspension of US aid to affect the frontline.”
