Matthew Perry’s disgraced physician, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who is facing charges related to the actor’s death, was recently seen at his medical facility in California. The 42-year-old Dr. Plasencia, along with Dr. Mark Chavez, has been accused in connection with the passing of the ‘Friends’ star.
Photographers from DailyMail.com spotted him outside his Malibu Canyon Urgent Care clinic on Monday. Dr. Plasencia, dressed in all black with blue sneakers, appeared solemn outside his establishment. He is described as a professional skilled in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics on the clinic’s website.
Unfortunately, Perry suffered a fatal ketamine overdose in October 2023, found lifeless in his Los Angeles home’s hot tub by his assistant Kenneth Iwamasa. Allegations suggest that Chavez sold ketamine lozenges to Plasencia, who is accused of providing them to Perry.
Despite the severity of the charges linked to Perry’s death, both doctors currently have no restrictions on their medical licenses, allowing them to prescribe powerful medications, according to TMZ. The California State Medical Board confirmed that both doctors have active licenses without any restrictions.
Text messages reportedly show Plasencia making disrespectful comments about Perry’s value, with one message saying “I wonder how much this moron will pay” upon learning that the actor sought ketamine. Plasencia has pleaded not guilty to the accusations.
One incident revealed that Plascenica and Chavez collaborated to charge Perry $2,000 for a vial of ketamine, while he only paid $12 for the drug in an attempt to feed his addiction.
Meanwhile, 54-year-old Chavez has admitted his involvement in the overdose case by entering a guilty plea in October but still faces a potential decade in prison. His sentencing is set for April 2, 2025.
Perry had struggled with addiction for years, dating back to his time on ‘Friends’ when he portrayed Chandler Bing. He starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004 on NBC’s hit sitcom.
