Mischievous cat goes viral online for ‘buying’ vapes and breaking into pubs

Must read

It’s no secret that cats lead very different lives when their owners aren’t looking – but there are some fearless felines that undoubtedly take it to the next level. This UK cat (aptly named Mischief) has taken over TikTok with his crazy antics which see him attending university, sneaking into pubs and even “buying” vapes.

Mischief is an infamous character in his hometown of Plymouth, where the locals have set up a Facebook page to keep track of all of his misadventures. This includes a communal map, which shows all of the locations that the furry prankster has been spotted, as well as regular posts updating his movements.

Social media artist Amii Illustrates, who lives in the same locality as Mischief, went online to share some of the craziest of the cat’s adventures. Some of the most outrageous photos the group have posted include the cat waltzing into a Year 12 class, strolling through a shopping centre, attending a Slimming World meeting and also hanging out in a local university’s Students’ Union building. Amii wrote in the caption: “I swear I always see him around my back garden so I have NO IDEA how finds the time for all of this?? Or how he gets around??”

However, possibly the wildest the photos show Mischief in a vape store, where Amii says it appears he is “buying” one of the e-cigarettes. In another picture he can also be seen in the local Ladbrokes where she speculates he is “gambling”, while several other shots show him wandering into various pubs.

The adorable menace has caused some real trouble, too. Some of his more illicit activities include breaking into a car in an attempt to steal a McDonald’s, sneaking into random homes, hopping in an Asda van for a free ride and allegedly breaking into Plymouth naval base twice.

However, the comments have largely come to Mischief’s defence. “God forbid cats have hobbies,” one wrote. “Ya’ll have gravely misunderstood, that’s your mayor tending to his constituents,” another joked.

Viewers have perhaps been most shocked by a picture shared of Mischief voluntarily showing up at the local vet’s surgery. “Going to the vet’s by choice is insane,” one account said.

Others claimed to have had experiences with the same cat, attesting to his cuddly nature. “Omg this cat came to into my uni accommodation last year and he up to someone’s room and everyone was petting him he was such a cute and friendly cat.”

Another gave a potential insight into how Mischief manages to sneak into so many places of work: “He’s come into my work before and he’s such a sweet cat. He will stand right in front of your front door so you have no option but to let him in.”

Many in the comments were wondering who owned the cat, given that he appears to be roaming the town at all times of day. Fortunately, Amii has since posted an update confirming that he is, in fact, not homeless: “For everyone asking, yes he does have an owner.” She then showed several pictures of Mischief “grounded” by his owner for being out of the house too long. Even more preposterously, she also revealed that Mischief has an entire team of people dedicated to coming to collect him whenever he wanders off too far.
