“New Take That Documentary Reveals Jason Orange’s Departure Drama”

Must read

A recently released documentary about Take That sheds light on Jason Orange’s departure from the chart-topping group. The trio comprising Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Mark Owen disclosed in a new Netflix series how they made efforts to persuade Jason from leaving before he ultimately decided to part ways with the band.

Take That initially rose to fame as a boy band in the Nineties with Robbie Williams as the fifth member before disbanding in February 1996, following Robbie’s exit. In 2005, Sony created a documentary titled “Take That: For The Record,” which rekindled interest in the band. The documentary, although somewhat staged, received high TV ratings and paved the way for the band’s reunion and return to the stage.

The band’s reunion tour, named The Ultimate Tour, marked their first performance together since their separation in 1996. Following the success of the tour, the band released new music, including the hit single “Patience.” Jason pushed for equal song royalties for all band members, a change from the past where Gary received all songwriting proceeds.

Subsequent tours like the Beautiful World Tour in 2007 and Circus in 2009 were well-received, but tensions within the group grew as Jason’s interest in touring waned. Robbie Williams’ involvement in the Progress tour of 2011 temporarily delayed Jason’s departure from the band.

Despite efforts to keep Jason on board, he eventually decided to leave after the Progress tour, reducing the band to a trio. The remaining members, while saddened by Jason’s exit, continued touring without him. The band’s resilience and commitment to their music have allowed them to thrive despite the challenges they faced over the years.
