Peter Andre has revealed his worries over wrecking the routine his wife Emily MacDonagh has prepared for their baby daughter Arabella, who turns one next month, while he has been busy working over recent weeks. Now back home with the family, Peter has been thrown back into dad life, but jokes he’s being careful not to undo doting mum Emily’s hard work.
Writing in his weekly New! Magazine column, Peter said: “It’s great to be back home doing normal things after being on the road with the Frankie Valli tour.
“The other day I was changing Arabella’s nappy and I put all her clothes back on inside out. Cunningly, Emily filmed it and reminded me I only had one job, LOL. I think it’s just a dad thing – or maybe just a me thing.
“Emily’s been amazing over the past three months and got into a brilliant routine – so I’ll try not to come back and wreck it! One thing’s for sure, my family are glad to have me back.”
Arabella’s is the newest addition to Peter and Emily’s brood, with the couple also sharing Theo, eight, and Millie, 11. While Peter is dad to Princess, 17, and 19-year-old Junior from his first marriage to Katie Price.
While his eldest children are very established on social media – 17-year-old Princess has around 740,000 Instagram followers- Pete and Emily, who will celebrate their 10-year wedding anniversary this summer, have chosen to keep the faces of their youngest three off their own channels.
Peter, who has just finished a nationwide theatre tour, insisted after Arabella’s birth that she would be his last child, despite having previously wanted up to five or six. He admitted, however, that the lack of sleep in his 50s “feels a little different than at 31”.
He also opened up about getting his work-life balance right, saying: “I get to do so many wonderful things in my career but one of the things I’m learning when I’m at home is just to be present.
“I’m trying to put my phone down as much as possible and really switch off from distractions to give my family the attention they deserve.”
Recently, the family marked a milestone for baby Arabella, Peter said last week that the little one is crawling and has got some teeth coming in.
He explained: “Arabella is so adorable at the moment. She’s almost one and she’s crawling. She’s got four little teeth, two on the top and two on the bottom, which is cute –she’s very much like Millie was at that age.”
Peter added: “The whole family went out for my birthday dinner and all her brothers and sisters were passing her around for a cuddle – they absolutely adore her.”
