“Police Crack Down on Supercar Meets in Celebrity Village”

Must read

Police in an upscale village known for celebrity residents have implemented a dispersal order to prohibit gatherings of high-performance cars, commonly referred to as “supercar meets.” Residents in affluent Alderley Edge, Cheshire, have expressed concerns over the influx of racing enthusiasts negatively impacting local businesses.

The village, often likened to Knightsbridge in the north, boasts a roster of famous footballers past and present, including David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Erling Haaland. Locals have described the car meets as disruptive and frustrating, leading to a decline in visitors.

Exotic vehicles such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Audis, and Mercedes have been observed roaring through the village, creating disturbances as onlookers capture the scenes on their phones. Chief Inspector Zoe Bowden of Cheshire Police has initiated a new operation in response to recent event reports.

A dispersal order has been enforced for the upcoming weekend until Sunday night to address the issue following reports of planned activities. Inspector Bowden emphasized the zero-tolerance stance toward lawbreakers, warning of potential consequences including vehicle confiscation, penalties, insurance notifications, or legal action if the dispersal order is breached.

Law enforcement is targeting individuals causing disruptions and behaving antisocially within the community. Social media footage surfaced this week showing a reckless driver narrowly avoiding a collision in Alderley Edge while performing dangerous maneuvers with an Audi supercar.

Local councilor Craig Browne emphasized that while visitors are welcome, any antisocial conduct is unwelcome. Instances of reckless driving, such as doughnuts at junctions, and crowds obstructing footpaths have been witnessed, prompting concerns among residents and business owners.

Businesses have reported a decline in customers due to the disturbances caused by the supercar gatherings, impacting the local economy and safety. The ongoing issue of noisy supercar gatherings has prompted the installation of a noise-activated camera on the A34 nearby, with numerous warning letters issued to offenders in the initial days of its operation.
