Vladimir Putin’s recent actions in Odesa have caused significant destruction, leaving the city engulfed in chaos. Following a ceasefire, a kamikaze drone attack orchestrated by Putin resulted in injuries to three individuals, including a young girl.
Residents captured dramatic footage of the aftermath, showcasing the devastation caused by a massive explosion, shaking local infrastructure. This attack, considered the most severe of the ongoing conflict, targeted over a dozen civilian sites in Odesa. Pictures and videos shared on Telegram depicted the aftermath, with buildings in ruins, billowing smoke, and the city’s skyline illuminated by fires in multiple areas.
Reports from Telegram channels indicated a wave of more than 15 drones striking Odesa, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny, originating from the Black Sea. The account ermaka2022, sharing initial footage of the attack, criticized Russia for delighting in targeting civilians. Mayor Gennady Trukhanov urged residents to seek safety as explosions continued to rock the southern parts of Odesa.
Despite the ceasefire discussions between Putin and US President Donald Trump, the violence persisted, contradicting hopes for peace. Putin’s breach of promises not to target Ukrainian energy infrastructure led to immediate retaliation from Ukraine. President Zelensky emphasized that Putin’s actions did not align with the pursuit of a lasting peace agreement.
