“Red Bull Honors Honda at Japanese GP with White Livery”

Must read

Red Bull is set to implement changes beyond just the switch in drivers for the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix. The team plans to showcase a white livery at Suzuka as a tribute to Honda, the renowned Japanese car manufacturer.

In a nod to their partner Honda, Red Bull had initially intended to honor them at the 2020 Japanese Grand Prix, which was postponed due to the pandemic. Instead, they paid homage to Honda at the recent Turkish Grand Prix in 2021 by donning white team colors and race suits.

The new white look at Suzuka is a tribute to the iconic Honda RA272, the vehicle that marked Honda’s inaugural F1 Grand Prix victory in 1965, making history as the first Japanese car to achieve such a feat.

In a recent development, Max Verstappen will now be partnered with Yuki Tsunoda following a driver swap within the Red Bull team. Former Racing Bulls driver Tsunoda has switched places with Liam Lawson, who faced challenges in his initial races with the senior team.

While Lawson’s tenure was brief after stepping in for Sergio Perez, Tsunoda is poised to have an extended opportunity to showcase his skills, with Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko expressing confidence in the 24-year-old’s capabilities for the remainder of the season.

Following the driver change, Christian Horner, Red Bull’s chief, emphasized that the decision was driven by the team’s ambition to compete for both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships in the 2025 season. Yuki’s experience is expected to contribute significantly to the development of the current RB21 car.
