Rod Stewart shares exciting baby news as family grows again

Must read

Sir Rod Stewart has revealed that he’ll soon become a grandfather for the fifth time, with his daughter Kimberly announcing her pregnancy. The mum-to-be shared the news on Instagram, just a couple of weeks after Rod’s fourth grandchild was welcomed into the world.

In Kimberly’s post, she posed in a floral dress in a beautiful garden, looking into the distance as she held onto her baby bump. “Baby boy coming soon,” she wrote in the caption along with a blue heart emoji.

Kimberly, 45, was born in Los Angeles unlike her Londoner dad, and is already a mum to a daughter, Delilah born in 2011. The model shares her daughter – who is Rod’s first grandchild – with actor Benicio del Toro.

Just a couple of weeks ago on March 3, another grandchild was born into the Stewart family – daughter Elsie Skylar Stewart. Elsie is the daughter of Rod’s sixth child, Liam, who previously worked as a pro ice hockey player.

Liam is also dad to son Louis, who happily posed with his baby sister in photos taken at the hospital. Alongside Delilah, Elsie, Louis and the baby boy-to-be, Rod’s daughter Ruby also welcomed a baby boy, Otis, in 2023.

The Stewart family is a big one, with Sir Rod having eight children of his own – four sons, and four daughters. His first child, Sarah Streeter, was put up for adoption when Rod was just a teen.

Sarah, now 61, is shared with his ex-girlfriend Susannah Boffey, and Rod explained that he was “stone broke” when she arrived in 1963 – but they formed a relationship decades later.

Kimberly and her brother Sean are shared with his first wife Alana Stewart, while Ruby is shared with Kelly Emberg. Rod then married Rachel Hunter in 1990, and welcomed Liam and his sister Renee.

Rod and Rachel separated in 1999, and he started dating his current wife Penny Lancaster the same year before tying the knot in 2007. The couple are parents to sons Alistair and Aiden, who’s the youngest of Rod’s kids with a 2011 birth date.

Last month, Penny opened up about how at first she found it difficult to join Rod’s large, blended family. “When I first met Rod it wasn’t the case of being involved with the man I love, it was a case of bringing in the whole family including everybody,” she told Kaye Adams on Loose Women.

She continued: “I tiptoed in and said it’ll be alright in the end.” Kaye jumped in: “In fairness to that they [Rod’s children] all probably thought you were not going to be around forever, they weren’t going to know that you’ll stick around.”

Penny replied: “Exactly, they thought ‘this is the next girlfriend, what does she want’ so it was understandable so I took the stance of being empathetic and trying to look at life from different perspectives and put myself in their shoes.”
