Russian Nationalist Warns Europe of Trump Threat; Suggests Seeking Protection from Russia

Must read

A warning from a Russian nationalist politician has been issued to Europe amidst efforts to respond to the latest threats from the US President. Aleksey Zhuravlev, aged 63, expressed concerns about leaders like Donald Trump, whom he believes sees himself as superior and has historically led the world to catastrophe. Zhuravlev suggested that if a conflict were to arise with the US, Europe would seek protection from Russia.

This warning follows Trump’s reiterated statement that the US considers Greenland crucial for national security. In response, EU chief Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that Greenland belongs to its people and discussed the matter with Denmark.

In a post on Telegram, Zhuravlev highlighted Trump’s assertive actions, particularly towards Venezuela and Greenland, indicating a pattern of ambitious and ego-driven leadership that has historically posed risks to the planet. As the deputy chairman of the Russian parliament’s defence committee, Zhuravlev previously proposed supplying nuclear-capable Russian missiles to Venezuela and Cuba in response to US operations in Venezuela.

Recently, Zhuravlev called for a strong response to the US capture of a Russian-flagged oil tanker in the Atlantic, suggesting the use of torpedoes against American Coast Guard boats. He emphasized the need for a swift and decisive reaction, even mentioning the possibility of nuclear weapons use in accordance with Russia’s military doctrine in such scenarios.
