Millions of Sky Mobile subscribers are set to experience an increase in their monthly bills starting next month following the announcement of a new price hike. Most customers will witness a £1.50 per month rise, amounting to an annual increase of £18, although some individuals may face varying adjustments in their bills.
The revised prices will take effect on February 14, 2026, marking the first time Sky Mobile has altered prices for customers under contract in over seven years. In case customers are dissatisfied with the increase and are within the minimum contract term, they have the option to cancel their package without incurring early termination fees.
While the standard tariff prices are being adjusted, the price of the Sky Mobile social tariff, catering to low-income users, will remain unchanged. The decision to increase prices is attributed to escalating wholesale network expenses, and affected customers will receive notifications about the upcoming billing adjustments starting today.
A spokesperson from Sky Mobile explained that the £1.50 monthly increase for most customers is necessary to maintain the quality, service, and value expected by customers, with the last mid-contract price adjustment being more than seven years ago. The spokesperson emphasized that the change reflects industry-wide cost pressures while enabling continued investments in network infrastructure and enhancing customer experience.
In a similar move, O2 recently announced a £2.50 monthly increase for the majority of mobile and SIM-only contract customers starting April 2026, up from the initially planned £1.80 increment. Additionally, Three mobile customers opting for data plans of 4GB or less will face a monthly price hike of £1.80 from April 2026, representing an 80p increase from the current £1 raise.
Customers on plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will see a £1.90 increase in monthly charges from April 2026, while those with over 100GB plans will experience a £2.30 rise. Furthermore, Three broadband subscribers can anticipate a £3.50 monthly increase in their bills from the same month.
Vodafone mobile customers who sign up for new deals starting November 12 will witness a monthly bill increase of £2.50, while Basics SIM plan subscribers will face a £1.50 rise. On the broadband front, Vodafone customers are slated for a £3.50 monthly price hike. Existing Vodafone and Three customers will continue with their agreed-upon rates unless stated otherwise.
This wave of price adjustments in the telecom industry reflects the challenges posed by rising operational costs, prompting providers to recalibrate their pricing structures to sustain service quality and innovation for their clientele.
