Must read

Children had to be rushed to the hospital following an incident where a swing broke and trapped them at a playground. A distressing video captured the moment kids were stuck inside a swing at an Ayr beach park near Glasgow after the cable snapped on March 9. While one boy managed to free himself, others struggled to escape, causing concern among onlookers. Two 12-year-old boys were taken to Ayr Hospital after the accident, with one sustaining a concussion and the other examined for breathing difficulties, back pain, and neck pain. Another child was also hospitalized the next day due to a concussion.

A concerned parent recounted receiving a call from their son reporting the incident and promptly taking him to the hospital for evaluation. Following a medical examination, it was determined that the children suffered soft tissue damage and concussion. The parent expressed shock over the incident, emphasizing the potential severity of the injuries sustained.

Parents alerted the council about the incident, expressing dissatisfaction with the response received. The concerned parent highlighted the need for a thorough investigation and expressed concerns about playground safety, especially as summer approaches. The South Ayrshire Council assured that play equipment undergoes weekly inspections by qualified personnel and stated that they are investigating the incident. The equipment involved has been removed from the playground, and the council extended wishes for the affected children’s swift recovery.
