Taylor Swift’s godson has been banned from being alone with his famous mum, according to court documents.
Actress, Jaime King, 45, who has two kids, made the Americana star her son Leo’s godmother in 2015 before a bitter custody battle started between the actress and her sons’ dad, Kyle Newman, 49.
According to recent court documents, a judge has made a huge decision regarding Jaime’s access to her children by stating that they live with their dad, Kyle, who will have final say on legal custody while he and Jaime will share custody on paper amid the controversial case.
Moreover, the judge said Jaime must have her visits with her sons supervised until she finishes a mandatory drug/alcohol program, which lasts around six months, according to court documents seen by People magazine.
The outlet reports that those qualifying for the ‘supervisor’ role, include Jaime’s mother, sister, brother-in-law, and Kyle’s brother Kevin. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Kyle shared a snap of his sons with the caption: “On this St. Patrick’s Day, I’m the luckiest.”
His ex-wife, Jaime, who married the actor in 2007 before filing for divorce in 2020, has been pals with Taylor for years during which time the Bad Blood billionaire donated a generous sum of money to Cedars Sinai King hospital in LA when Jaime’s son, Leo, who was born with a heart defect, required surgery.
Taking to Instagram in 2016, Jaime thanked her friend for her generosity, posting: “@taylorswift does so many selfless acts that go unnoticed because she does them silently, from such a great place of unconditional giving.”
Explaining Leo’s condition, the actress continued: “At 20 weeks our son was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries AKA TGA. He had a major heart surgery, that was terrifying, and traumatic for us as parents, for our family.
“Only a few of our best friends knew. I felt that I had to protect him in fear of the unknown, fear he would not make it. We felt isolated and confused.
“As the Godmother of Leo Thames for his birthday she gave an incredible donation to the people that saved his life, Dr. Allistar Phillips and his brilliant team. TS knew that by giving back in this way would be the greatest gift one could give to us, to Leo Thames and to all of those with congenital heart issues.”
Jaime added of the Grammy winner: “She came to the ICU to comfort us, to hold and bond with him with such grace and strength. Our gift back is to share our story that anyone that is going through this is not alone, we understand and want to stand up to bring awareness in the greatest way possible.”
