“Teen Trio on Trial for Shocking Murder of Kent Electrician”

Must read

Three teenagers are currently facing trial for the alleged murder of Alexander Cashford, a 49-year-old electrician from Kent. The incident took place in Leysdown-on-Sea on the Isle of Sheppey, where Cashford was discovered with severe head and facial injuries on August 10.

During the trial at Woolwich Crown Court, it was revealed that a 16-year-old boy, along with a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, are accused of orchestrating the attack on Cashford. While the two boys have pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges, the 16-year-old boy admitted to a secondary charge of manslaughter. The girl also denied the manslaughter charge.

Prior to the incident, Cashford had exchanged messages with the girl, who used the alias “Sienna,” after meeting her at an amusement arcade. The trio arranged to meet Cashford near the sea wall on August 10. When they met, the girl and Cashford walked along the seafront while the two boys followed. The court heard that one of the boys picked up a glass bottle during the encounter.

Evidence presented in court included a video found on the 16-year-old boy’s phone, allegedly filmed by the girl, showing the attack on Cashford. The video captured the girl shouting derogatory remarks at Cashford before the boy struck him with the glass bottle. Witnesses testified that the boys continued to assault Cashford even after he fell to the ground.

The trial is ongoing as the prosecution presents further evidence related to the case.
