A tragic incident occurred when a young football enthusiast lost his life after accidentally stepping on a downed power line during a storm. Adrian David Feitoza Coelho, a 10-year-old boy, was with his mother in Planaltina, Brazil, returning home from an optician’s visit amid severe weather conditions in Brasilia. The strong winds and rain caused a power line to break, prompting nearby passersby to signal for them to stop. Unfortunately, Adrian unknowingly touched the live cable upon exiting the vehicle, resulting in a high-voltage shock and severe injuries.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, medical efforts were futile, and Adrian could not be saved. His father described him as a vibrant and playful child, recalling the moment the electrical surge disabled their car. Witnesses at a nearby bar alerted the family to the danger, leading Adrian’s mother to assist him out of the vehicle, where the tragic accident occurred.
Upon emergency responders’ arrival, Adrian was found with burns and in cardiac arrest. Despite resuscitation efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His funeral took place on Saturday, leaving behind grieving parents and three younger siblings. Adrian, who had a passion for singing at church and dreamt of a football career, had aspirations to join a football academy.
In a separate incident, Mimma Faia, a 38-year-old mother of three from Palermo, Sicily, tragically passed away after being electrocuted while working. Following the unexpected accident at a restaurant, emergency services promptly attended to her, managing to revive her temporarily. However, she fell into a coma for two months and eventually passed away in intensive care on December 11.
Her child confirmed the heartbreaking news on social media, expressing love and gratitude for her mother’s care. Friends and acquaintances shared their sorrow, acknowledging Mimma’s strength in raising her children and lamenting the tragic turn of events. Mimma’s untimely demise left a void in the lives of those who knew her, mourning the loss of a resilient and loving individual.
