Must read

The January 2026 results for Premium Bonds were unveiled today, with two individuals becoming £1 million richer as they kick off the New Year.

One fortunate winner, residing in Suffolk, holds the maximum £50,000 in Premium Bonds. Their winning bond number, 570QM451332, was acquired in February 2024.

The second £1 million winner hails from Berkshire and also possesses £50,000 in Premium Bonds. Their winning bond number, 377PG290829, was purchased in December 2019.

Premium Bonds, offered by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), function as a savings product where participants are entered into a monthly prize draw instead of receiving a fixed interest rate.

The range of monthly prizes for Premium Bonds varies from £25 to £1 million, with a higher distribution of smaller prizes compared to larger sums, resulting in a less frequent occurrence of winning each month.

Typically, thousands of £25 prizes are awarded alongside just two £1 million prizes each month. The maximum savings limit for Premium Bonds is £50,000, and every £1 invested corresponds to a unique bond number.

The probability of a bond winning in any given month stands at 22,000 to 1 for each £1 bond. Winners are notified via email or text message by NS&I upon winning a prize.

Upon winning, recipients have the option to receive the funds in their bank account or reinvest them in Premium Bonds. Utilizing the NS&I online prize checker tool or the Premium Bonds prize checker app enables individuals to verify if they have won.
