Must read

The latest results for Premium Bonds in July 2025 have been revealed, bringing fortune to two individuals in the UK who are now £1 million richer. One lucky winner resides in Norwich and holds the maximum amount of £50,000 in their Premium Bonds.

Their winning bond number, 224LR913240, was purchased back in June 2014. The second winner, located in Nottingham, holds £49,100 in Premium Bonds with the winning bond number 83EP714276, acquired nearly three decades ago in October 1997. Premium Bonds, managed by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), offer participants a chance to win prizes in a monthly draw.

The prizes awarded range from £25 to £1 million in Premium Bonds, although there are months where no winnings are received. Each £1 invested corresponds to a unique bond number, with a maximum savings limit of £50,000 in Premium Bonds.

Andrew Westhead, the Retail Director of NS&I, congratulated the two jackpot winners and highlighted that this month saw over 5.9 million prizes totaling more than £417 million being distributed, including 80 individuals winning £100,000 each. To check if you have won, the prize checker app, visiting nsandi.com, or asking your Alexa device from July 2nd are recommended.

The odds of winning a prize each month with Premium Bonds are 22,000 to 1 for every £1 bond, with the current prize fund rate standing at 3.80%. However, NS&I announced a reduction in the prize fund rate to 3.60% starting from the August 2025 draw, ensuring two £1 million prizes in the upcoming month alongside a higher number of smaller prizes.

Andrew Westhead emphasized that the adjustment to the prize fund rate reflects the evolving savings landscape and reassured that Premium Bonds offer security, ease of withdrawal, and the excitement of potentially winning tax-free prizes. The August draw is expected to yield over 6 million tax-free prizes exceeding £396 million.

To check if you are a winner, you can utilize the NS&I online prize checker tool or the Premium Bonds prize checker app. Winners can choose to have their winnings transferred to their bank account or reinvested
