The British government has been revealed to have received and concealed data from inhumane experiments resembling those conducted by the Nazis on cancer patients for over five decades. Documents obtained through a Freedom of Information battle shed light on The Technical Cooperation Programme, a clandestine organization involved in defense research for several countries including the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
The secretive body, as per meeting minutes from 1969, executed gruesome experiments on unsuspecting civilians, with senior military officers from the RAF, Royal Navy, and British Army discussing and seeking more information on these activities. The experiments included testing the effects of radiation on various individuals without their consent, such as twins, cancer patients, and burn victims, leading to severe suffering and death.
The revelations have sparked outrage among experts and campaigners, with calls for transparency and accountability. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has acknowledged the past involvement of the UK in such research and the continued presence of The Technical Cooperation Programme, now comprising 73 British representatives at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory in Porton Down.
While the MoD claims that information on the program’s activities is held by another TTCP nation and might be costly to disclose, critics demand full disclosure to uncover any potential harm caused to UK service personnel.
