The supermarket has withdrawn certain batches of Waitrose Indian Takeaway for two after it was discovered that some packs were mistakenly packed with spring rolls containing sesame and soya, allergens not declared on the label.
Individuals allergic to sesame or soya may face health risks from consuming the mispacked product, with symptoms varying from skin reactions to facial swelling, vomiting, and diarrhea. The recalled product weighs 1412g and carries a use-by date of July 25, 2025. Customers who have purchased this item can return it to their nearest Waitrose store for a full refund or contact Waitrose customer support at 0800 188 884.
In an online recall notice, Waitrose expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and explained the recall was necessary due to the undeclared allergens. In a separate incident, Wall’s has recalled two products over concerns of potential salmonella contamination. The affected items are 113g packs of Wall’s The Classic Scotch Egg and 226g packs of Wall’s Two Classic Scotch Eggs, both with a use-by date of July 2.
Additionally, Aldi has recalled its own-brand baby potatoes as they may pose a health risk to individuals allergic to dairy products. Specific batches of Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter were found to contain milk not listed on the packaging. The affected potatoes have a use-by date up to and including July 1, 2025, with the barcode 4061463488152.
Furthermore, Lidl has recalled batches of its fruit and nut bars due to potential plastic contamination. The recall applies to all stock with a best-before date of December 2025 and batch code L24337, as well as a best-before date of November 2025 with batch code L24316.
Health foods brand Grape Tree has also recalled its Raw Unsalted Macadamia Nuts after a batch tested positive for Shiga toxin-producing E.coli. The recalled product has the batch code G41 5 101 250610 and a best-before date of July 11, 2026, with a pack size of 250g.
