A 21-year-old woman, Demi-Lee Sefton, was admitted to the hospital under the suspicion of having appendicitis. Surprisingly, she ended up giving birth to a baby girl named Hazel just 45 minutes later. Demi-Lee had no prior knowledge of her pregnancy as Hazel was positioned towards her back, causing her to not show the typical signs of being pregnant.
Demi-Lee, a dental nurse, had not experienced any pregnancy symptoms and mistook her regular bleeding for her menstrual cycle. When she broke the news to her partner, Brad Barrington, he was initially in disbelief, thinking she was joking. The couple had planned to purchase a home before starting a family, and the unexpected arrival of Hazel caught them off guard.
