“37 Years Later: Ted Bundy’s Execution Reignites Death Penalty Debate”

Must read

Today marks the 37th anniversary of the death of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy, who was executed in the electric chair. Bundy is just one of many criminals who have faced capital punishment. The debate over the morality and effectiveness of the death penalty continues, with differing opinions on whether it truly serves justice.

Although the death penalty was abolished in Britain in 1965, it remains legal in over 50 countries worldwide, including the United States, India, Japan, and Thailand. Some nations, like Brazil, allow executions only in extreme circumstances.

Ted Bundy, known for terrorizing and murdering young women in the 1970s, was executed in Florida in 1989. Aileen Wuornos, dubbed the “Damsel of Death,” was executed in Florida in 2002 after killing several clients. Harvey Glatman, the “Glamour Girl Slayer,” met his end in a gas chamber in California in 1959. John Wayne Gacy, the “Killer Clown,” was executed in Illinois in 1994 for his heinous crimes. William Bonin, known as the “Freeway Killer,” was executed in California in 1996.
